Visiting Policies & Hours
Children need consistency and assurance. Parents are a primary source of comfort and are always welcome in the pediatric and pediatric intensive care units.
It’s important that our young patients rest and that they aren’t exposed to outside illnesses. We respectfully request that family members or friends who wish to visit follow these guidelines:
- Do not visit if you are sick (coughing, sneezing, upset stomach or showing signs of fever, diarrhea, vomiting, rash, etc.) or have recently been exposed to a communicable disease, such as chicken pox or shingles.
- Wash hands when you arrive and when you leave.
- Avoid visiting between 8:30 p.m. and 8 a.m.
- Supervise children and teenagers at all times (during the months children are able to visit).
- Do not bring snacks or treats of any kind, since most patients are on restricted diets.
As a reminder, the pediatric units are closed to visitors younger than 18 from October through April due to an increase in RSV, colds, flu and other contagious conditions.
