Anticipating the birth of a child? The Childbirth Suites at Lutheran Hospital is supported by Lutheran Children's Hospital. Thousands of area residents choose Lutheran as the place to bring their baby into the world.
Lutheran Hospital wants to provide a comfortable and professional atmosphere for the birth of your baby. For this reason, we offer single-room maternity care. This arrangement allows the father to join you in your private room during labor, delivery and recovery. Baby may stay with you in your room as much as you wish. Our nursery is nearby and is staffed by a registered nurse 24 hours a day for your convenience. For mothers requiring a cesarean birth or other special procedures, our surgical suites and recovery areas are located within the Childbirth Suites.
Our recently remodeled rooms are private, warm and welcoming with the cozy touches of home. You will enjoy our beautiful decor, comfortable beds, a rocking chair and a large chair or sofa that converts to a bed for your support person. New parents can also enjoy many other comforts such as handheld shower heads, blow dryers, subdued lighting, room service menu choices and complimentary snacks. Other special services include lactation consultants, a weekly breastfeeding support group, breast pump rentals, specialty retail services and an in-house portrait studio.
And, because sometimes babies need a little extra help, we have our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit located on the same floor of the hospital, just a few steps away from the Childbirth Suites. Staffed by board-certified neonatologists, nurses and therapists dedicated to caring for these special babies. Our team can help you through every step. We'll talk with about your questions and concerns.
In addition to all these extras and our state-of-the-art equipment, new moms are supported by a caring, board-certified nursing staff. This specialized care creates a balance of comfort, safety and warm hospitality for patients, which emphasizes Lutheran Hospital's commitment to five-star customer service, something our patients have come to expect.
