Meet the Neonatologists

Rene Arcellana, MDRene Arcellana, MD
Dr. Arcellana received his undergraduate degree and medical school training at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. His general pediatric training was completed at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, N.J. He completed his fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the University of Louisville.


Daniel Biehl, MDDaniel Biehl, MD
Dr. Biehl graduated from Michigan Tech University in Houghton, Mich. and Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. He completed his residency in general pediatrics at Michigan State University and his fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the University of Louisville.

Dr. Biehl's fellowship research focused on clinical applications of ECMO. He applied this experience while in the Air Force as director of ECMO for Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.


James Cameron, MDJames Cameron, MD
Dr. Cameron serves as medical director of the Lutheran Children's Hospital NICU. He is also the physician liaison for the neonatal division of the Mobile Intensive Care Unit, as well as physician coordinator of NINA's Vermont-Oxford data. Dr. Cameron graduated from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne and the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in pediatrics at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. and a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.


Chris Kim, MDChris Kim, MD
Dr. Kim graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, Penn. and Yonsei University College of Medicine in Seoul, South Korea. He completed a pediatric residency at the University of Tennessee and a neonatal-perinatal fellowship at the University of Louisville.


Janet Leezer, MDJanet Leezer, MD
Dr. Leezer is the medical director of the Dupont Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She received her undergraduate degree, residency and fellowship training from the University of Louisville. After completing her fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine, she served as clinical faculty at the University of Louisville.


Stephan Pepple, MDStephan Pepple, MD
Dr. Pepple serves as medical director of the St. Joseph Hospital NICU. He received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and his medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine in Saba, Dutch Caribbean. He completed his pediatric residency at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, where he was the recipient of the Dr. William Bartlett Outstanding Senior Pediatric Resident Award, and his neonatal-perinatal fellowship at the University of Louisville.
