Making a Referral to Lutheran Children's Hospital
Lutheran Children's Hospital is committed to the care of children everywhere. Our commitment to you, as a medical professional, is to offer assistance by any means necessary to care for your sick or injured patients.
The team of pediatric specialists and nurses at Lutheran Children's Hospital offers comprehensive care in an array of specialties. We are sensitive to the needs of children and their families, and we are pleased to serve as a valuable resource to you.
LCH can serve as a valuable resource to you, whether answer a question, providing education or training or arranging transport, our goal is to evaluate the level of care needed for each child, and then execute that care.
Whether we are able to answer a question, arrange for transport to our facility, or help provide education and training to you and other staff, it is our mission to elevate the level of care available to children. Emergency medicine physicians provide care to the acutely ill or injured patients up to 18 years of age. A full range of medical and surgical services are available for children.
Emergency transport for neonatal patients may be arranged by calling (260) 435-7341 and asking for the neonatologist on call.
Lutheran's Mobile Intensive Care Unit puts the hospital on wheels or in the air so that patients can receive critical care treatment while on the way to the hospital. Pediatric patients are accompanied by the transport team which includes an emergency room nurse certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support, a respiratory therapist, and an emergency technician. Newborn infants are accompanied by a neonatal intensive care nurse, a respiratory therapist and a neonatologist when necessary.
