To ensure your child has the best possible hospital experience, we recommend scheduling a tour of Lutheran Children's Hospital before a procedure or surgery. Being familiar with the surroundings may help reduce his or her anxiety and fear and create better compliance from the child.
Come and learn about:
- Visiting the hospital (sights, sounds, experiences)
- What to bring (connections from home, security objects)
- Medical play (a chance to get familiar with equipment)
- Coping strategies for pretesting and pain management
- Presurgery areas and outpatient and inpatient pediatric units (patient room, playroom, presurgery holding area)
When: Third Tuesday of each month, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
